Landscape Garden Design NSW - Our process

STAGE 1 – INITIAL CONSULTATION (ON-SITE)

This gives us the opportunity to meet and discover your unique landscape and garden. We look at existing residential structures, orientation, lighting, outlook to neighbours and suburb feel.

CLIENT’S BRIEF – We start by asking lots of questions, understanding what you want to achieve, your broader interests, how you like to entertain and how you would like to use the garden or courtyard for outdoor living.

IMAGES – We often ask you to prepare images of gardens you like for your Sydney landscape design project.  This helps us discover your initial ideas, that we can use to guide our design process.

BUDGET – Budget is a critical conversation at this point as it dictates what we can realistically incorporate into our design. Our experience easily helps put numbers to ideas in a matter of minutes to fast track the garden design process.

END RESULT – By the end of our consultation, we will have developed a thorough understanding of your brief, suggested a number of design concept ideas, and be in a position to forward you a proposal.

-

STAGE 2 – PROPOSAL & QUOTE

We then send you a fee proposal (if required) to prepare your design concept plan – outlining our understanding of your brief.

We pride ourselves on quickly understanding our clients and ‘nailing’ the brief – reducing wasted time moving back & forth.

Our proposal is thorough and outlines a checklist of what we include in our design concept plans.

STAGE 3 – DESIGN CONCEPT PLANS

Following acceptance of our fee proposal, we then translate the brief into your design concept plans.

There are a number of steps in this process depending on the discussions during stage 2.

  • A further site visit to clarify the brief and do a thorough on-site analysis.
  • Draw up a landscape design plan of the site in our design studio.
  • Sketch 1-2 design concept plans for the overall garden.
  • Meetings to discuss design concepts and present a mood board with suggested plants, pots, materials and other styling suggestions.
  • Present final concept plans, landscape plan, planting plan and planting schedule. With optional 2D or 3D.
  • Liaise with landscape contractors (including stonemasons & carpenters) to optimise design practicality and cost efficiency.
  • Confirm availability of all the plants.

STAGE 4 – SOURCING & PLANTS

We style your garden and source items from our global supplier base. This can include outdoor furniture, pots and planters, outdoor rugs, screens, mirrors, water features or wall art.

Sourcing is either incorporated into our design fee OR offered on a separate hourly rate.

Ordering plants – As qualified horticulturalists, we supply the plants, which often requires many hours of back and forth discussions with local and interstate nurseries.

We help ensure plant availability to meet timelines, as well as maximising plant affordability.

STAGE 5 – QUOTE FOR CONSTRUCTION

Most of our clients enjoy the convenience of working with us all the way through the project to completion. This ensures that design and construction integrity is maintained.

Our construction service is offered as a separate service to our landscape design service.

Construction quote – Once the garden design is approved, we can present a detailed construction quote using our relationships with some of Sydney’s best landscape contractors and builders. – who are known for their high quality workmanship.

Project Liaison– Our role can involve recommending trades, organising quotes and continuing to liaise with contractors throughout the project. We also order all required plants and other styling elements to finalise your garden.
