LOCATION – Bronte, Eastern Suburbs, Sydney NSW
THE BRIEF – Maximise the entertaining and relaxation space in the back garden of this ground floor apartment in Bronte. The back garden of the property finishes in an unusual triangular shape that is also lower down than the main timber deck – making it impractical to use.
Our client wanted to be able to utilise this available space and incorporate new contemporary pots and feature plants on the deck.

The back garden of this Bronte project also featured established tall conifers along the boundary that had lost their lower undergrowth. We designed a lower layer of planting using Liriope and Gardenias to provide evergreen cover including seasonal flowering for our client to enjoy.
We created a feature out of the sunken relaxation pit at the rear of the property. Making use of the irregular triangular shape – we designed a space using organic bluestone pavers, limited border planting and a space for a new outdoor sofa for relaxation. This turned an awkward unusable space into a highly used feature of the new garden.
