- BRIEF – Maximise the entertaining and relaxation space in the back garden of this ground floor apartment in Bronte.
The back garden finished in an unusual triangular shape. Needing a step down from the main timber deck – reducing the practical space usage.
We increased the available space using large scale bluestone pavers, boundary coastal planting and new contemporary pots. New feature pots and planting were also introduced on the deck to unify the look of the garden.

EXISTING GARDEN
The back garden of this Bronte project also featured established tall conifers along the boundary that had lost their lower undergrowth.
NEW PLANTING
A lower layer of planting was designed using Liriope and Gardenias to provide evergreen cover including seasonal flowering for our client to enjoy.
LAYOUT
A feature was created out of the sunken relaxation pit at the rear of the property. Making use of the irregular triangular shape – the design included organic bluestone pavers, limited border planting and a space for a new outdoor sofa for relaxation.
This turned an awkward unusable space into a highly used feature of the new garden.
