LOCATION – Coogee, Eastern Suburbs, Sydney NSW
THE BRIEF – Create a modern coastal front garden design for a front garden townhouse in Coogee. To include low maintenance architectural elements with a modern Australian influence. The client wanted to incorporate privacy screening at the front of the property, so we included Star Jasmine ground cover to complement their existing plants.
The main feature of this Coogee landscape design project is a new Frangipani tree in a circular corten steel pot –Â which looks great at night time lit up.

MODERN PLANTS
We created a modern coastal feel in this small garden by starting with different sized pebbles to give the feel of a riverbed. Complementing this are beautiful organic bluestone pavers and a corten steel circular pot.Â
We layered in some Star Jasmine and other water tolerant plants on the boundaries for a lush lower level planting. We then incorporated some spillover smaller plants to soften the garden over time.
Our plant selection was not only guided by the coastal style but by the orientation of the garden. We needed some full sun plants for the northern orientation which perfectly complemented the feel of this Coogee landscape design garden project.
MODERN OUTDOOR FURNITURE
We also introduced a new small seating area so the owners could enjoy their morning cup of coffee soaking up the northerly sun.
OUTDOOR POTS
We were able to create different elements of height into the design by introducing new outdoor white pots of different sizes. We varied both the size, shape and colour of the pots to suit the garden location.
