STYLE – Tropical back garden design for a small backyard space.
A resort style oasis in a compact backyard in Rose Bay. The client wanted to incorporate privacy screening at the rear of the property, so we included modern tropical screening plants and other contemporary planting elements with a modern Balinese and tropical influence.

TROPICAL PLANT DESIGN
We created a lush tropical feel in this garden by starting with Slender Weaver Bamboo and Elephants Ears on the rear boundary. We layered in some Heliconia and Strelitzia on the side boundaries for a lush lower level planting.
We then incorporated some exoctic smaller feature plants in selected feature outdoor pots.
Our plant selection was not only guided by the tropical style but by the orientation of the garden. We needed some full sun tropical plants in certain areas and shade tolerant tropical screening plants in others.
MODERN OUTDOOR FURNITURE
We also introduced new seating areas into our tropical back garden design in combination with a new timber deck to accomodate family entertaining and a feature spa for the family.Â
OUTDOOR POTS
We were able to create different elements of height into the design and introduce new living zones by using different outdoors pots. We varied both the size shape and colour of the pots to suit the garden location.
